Back To The Shack è il nuovo singolo dei Weezer, rock band statunitense che il 7 ottobre 2014 ha rilasciato Everything Will Be Alright in the End, nono studio album che arriva a 4 anni di distanza dall’ultima fatica discografica Death to False Metal.
Il brano in questione è il primo singolo estratto ed è stato pubblicato il 22 luglio, mentre il secondo singolo è Cleopatra ed è stato rilasciato l’8 settembre.
Back To The Shack che tradotto significa Torna alla Capanna, è stato scritto da Rivers Cuomo e Jacob Kasher mentre Ric Ocasek si è occupato della produzione. Si tratta inoltre del primo singolo che segna il passaggio alla nuova etichetta discografica Republic Records.
Il video musicale che accompagna l’inedito, è stato diretto da Warren Fu e rilasciato su Youtube il 30 settembre 2014. Il suggestivo video ufficiale mostra la band suonare la canzone sulla luna. Il gruppo è senza tute da astronauta e gioca con l’assenza di gravità.
Tuttavia le parole hanno poco a che vedere con il filmato, in quanto parlano di una realtà amara come quella della musica odierna, compressa tra talent show e popstar inconsistenti.
