Ad oltre 4 anni di distanza da Coexist, è in arrivo il terzo studio album dei The XX che si intitola I See You, la cui data di rilascio è fissata al 13 gennaio 2017. Prodotto da Jamie xx e Rodaidh McDonald e già disponibile in pre-order, il disco racchiuderà dieci nuove canzoni, mentre nell’edizione in vinile, saranno incluse tre ulteriori tracks.
Questo lavoro segna una nuova era per il trio indie pop londinese formato da Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim e Jamie Smith, sia dal punto di vista sonoro che in termini di processo creativo. Mentre i due precedenti dischi erano stati realizzati in isolamento a Londra, I See You è stato invece registrato a New York, Marfa (Texas), Reykjavik (Islanda), Los Angeles e Londra, tra marzo 2014 e agosto 2016.
Ad anticipare l’uscita dell’atteso progetto, il primo singolo estratto On Hold (in attesa), che parla del tentativo di allungare una relazione che sta per terminare.
