Chasing Cars è il nuovo singolo dei The Wind and The Wave, duo composto da Dwight Baker e Patricia Lynn.
I due si incontrarono nel 2009, quando il musicista compositore e produttore Dwight Baker, che ha lavorato con artisti del calibro di Bob Schneider e Brandi Carlile, fu sollecitato dalla moglie lasciare il suo studio («Sono un po ‘eremita”, dice) ed andare a vedere la band di un amico. Precedentemente la band di Patty stava aprendo lo spettacolo. I due fecero amicizia al punto che lui espresse il desiderio di lavorare con lei.
Lo scorso anno hanno pubblicato il loro album di debutto con la RCA Records, un disco che include diversi generi musicali dalla indie-folk all’alternativa, daal blues-rock alla Southern psychedelia.
A maggio hanno rilasciato la cover del celebre brano del 2005 degli Snow Patrol, un pezzo di cui abbiamo già parlato appena pochi giorni fa.
Mi riferisco alla cover degli Sleeping at Last, registrata per fare da colonna sonora alla 21esima puntata (How to Save a life) dell’undicesima stagione della serie tv Grey’s Anatomy.
