Da maggio 2018 è nuovamente in rotazione lo spot della Nuova Polo, automobile di casa Volkswagen caratterizzata dal rilevatore di stanchezza, alla frenata automatica e al riconoscimento pedoni, caratteristiche che rendono quest’auto adatta a chi punta tutto sulla sicurezza intelligente.
Il brano che sentiamo nella campagna, andata in onda per la prima volta nell’ottobre 2017, è veramente una bomba. Ma qual è il titolo della canzone che fa da colonna sonora alla pubblicità?
Rilasciato il 19 aprile 1999, il pezzo in questione si intitola All Star ed è degli Smash Mouth, rock band californiana nata nel 1994. La gradevole canzone è stata rilasciata come secondo estratto dal secondo album in studio Astro Lounge, uscito nel giugno del 1999.
All Star è sicuramente stato uno dei brani di maggior successo del gruppo, il cui video musicale vede la partecipazione di Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria, Kel Mitchell, William H. Macy e un Dane Cook, che all’epoca era semi-sconosciuto. Diretto da McG, il filmato è stato prodotto per promuovere il film Mystery Men. Vista la celebrità ormai acquisita, in seguito il brano ha anche fatto parte delle colonne sonore Shrek e Rat Race e dei film dei Digimon e dell’ispettore Gadget, senza dimenticare il suo utilizzo in spot, videogiochi e programmi tv.
