Thirsty è una nuova canzone di Mariah Carey, che anticipa l’uscita del quattordicesimo studio album Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, che vedrà la luce in Italia il prossimo 27 maggio. Ecco quella che dovrebbe essere la cover del disco.
La nuova era discografica della cantautrice statunitense, non è tuttavia iniziata nel migliore dei modi in quanto ad oggi, non vi è stato un solo brano a riscuotere il successo che l’interprete si auspicava, ad eccezione di Beautiful, che comunque risale a poco più di un anno fa.
Ieri, lunedì 19 maggio, la Carey ha rilasciato l’audio dell’inedito che si intitola Thirsty, brano prodotto da Hit-Boy, che è andato in premiere radiofonica alle 15 (ora italiana).
Non è chiaro se Thirsty sia un singolo a tutti gli effetti (sembra che il prossimo singolo effettivo sarà You don’t know what to do), o se si tratti solamente di un pezzo tradizionale, fatto sta che si presenta come una canzone destinata alle emittenti radiofoniche urban. Ascoltiamo l’audio ufficiale.
Dubito fortemente che il brano possa imporsi nelle classifiche al di fuori dei confini statunitensi, anche se le sorprese sono sempre dietro l’angolo. Insomma, a mio parere, Thirsty non è certo il tipo di canzone può dare un pò di luce al periodo nero della Carey, che più passa il tempo, e più sembra essere snobbata dai fans.
