World Up è il nuovo singolo delle Little Mix, creato per fare da colonna sonora ufficiale di Sport Relief, uno degli eventi umanitari più importanti del Regno Unito, organizzato da Comic Relief e BCC Sport, sezione della TV di stato britannica che si occupa di organizzare le trasmissioni sportive nel palinsesto della BCC. Lo scopo è quello di raccogliere fondi da destinare alle persone povere.
Sport Relief è una grande raccolta fondi che ogni due anni unisce i grandi personaggi della musica e dello sport, al fine di dare una mano alle persone che vivono nei paesi più poveri al mondo. Lo scorso anno, i testimonial furono i One Direction con One Way Or Another, cover di un vecchio pezzo dei Blondie.
Quest’anno le madrine sono quindi le Little Mix, che come detto cantano il singolo ufficiale dell’evento: la cover di Word Up, successo del 1986 della band Cameo, che in passato era stata reinterpretata da altri artisti. La canzone sarà disponibile anche su iTunes Italia a partire dal 14 Marzo 2014.
