Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood è il nuovo singolo del cantante e pianista britannico Gregory Porter, che anticipa l’uscita del settimo disco in studio intitolato Interlude, che uscirà in Italia il prossimo 7 ottobre.
Questa canzone, vede la collaborazione del cantautore ed attore californiano Gregory Porter, e da venerdì 19 settembre 2014, sarà trasmesso dalle emittenti radiofoniche nazionali.
Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood non è un brano inedito, bensì si tratta di una cover di un pezzo scritto da Bennie Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell e Sol Marcus, per la cantante e pianista Nina Simone, che la incise per la prima volta nel 1964. In seguito, nel corso degli anni, il brano è stato registrato o eseguito da numerosi artisti. Le cover incise più conosciute, sono quelle del 1965 in chiave blues-rock dei The Animals, e la reinterpretazione del gruppo musicale franco-americano dei Santa Esmeralda, inclusa nell’EP omonimo pubblicato nel 1977 inizialmente dalla Phillips Records ed in seguito sotto l’etichetta Casablanca Records.
Dopo avere venduto 10 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo, collaborato con artisti del calibro di Pharrell, The Roots e Stevie Wonder, ed effettuato tour sempre sold-out, Jamie Cullum è lieto di presentare il nuovo singolo che promuove l’atteso nuovo lavoro in studio, che includerà dodici tracce.
